Traveling to Madison

BY AIR

Madison is no more than a few hours by air from every major metro area in the country and is served by Dane County Regional Airport. The commercial air carriers serving Madison include Northwest, United Express, Midwest Express/Skyway, American Eagle, Trans World Express/TWA, Comair/Delta Connection, Continental Express and Chicago Express/ATA.

For transportation from the airport to Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, you've got plenty of options: four onsite car rental companies and one offsite (but with pickup service), three taxicab companies with fares averaging $9-$14, or Madison Metro bus. Guests staying at the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace may ride their courtesy vehicle.

BY TRAIN

Amtrak provides service to Portage, Columbus and Milwaukee, Wis., as well as to Chicago. From there, Greyhound Bus (or Van Galder/Coach USA Bus from Chicago) will bring you to downtown Madison.

BY BUS

Greyhound Bus provides service to downtown Madison from anywhere in the United States. (800) 231-2222.

Daily service between downtown Milwaukee and downtown Madison is provided by Badger Bus. (608) 255-6771.

Van Galder/Coach USA Bus provides daily service between downtown Chicago or Chicago O'Hare and Midway airports and downtown Madison, with stops in Rockford, Beloit and Janesville. (800) 747-0994 or (608) 255-6771.

BY CAR

Located in south central Wisconsin, Madison is easily accessible via several major highways. The city is a 1-1/2 hour drive from Milwaukee (via I-94), a 2-1/2 hour drive from Chicago (via I-90), and a 4-1/2 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via I-94). Monona Terrace is conveniently located two blocks from the Capitol building in downtown Madison.


Directions to Monona Terrace

From the north via I-90/94 (Minneapolis, La Crosse, Wausau, Stevens Point, Portage):

Take I-90/94 to the Hwy 151 exit (southwest) going toward the State Capitol. Take 151/E. Washington Ave. all the way into downtown. As you approach the Capitol Square, follow 151 from E. Washington left onto Blair Street. Take Blair two blocks and turn right onto Wilson St. A few blocks up Wilson, just past Olin Terrace, turn left into the Monona Terrace parking structure.


From the northeast via Hwy 151 (Green Bay, Fox River Valley):

Follow Hwy 151 toward the State Capitol. Take 151/E. Washington Ave. all the way into downtown. As you approach the Capitol Square, follow 151 from E. Washington. left onto Blair Street. Take Blair two blocks and turn right onto Wilson St. A few blocks up Wilson, just past Olin Terrace, turn left into the Monona Terrace parking structure.


From the east via I-94 (Milwaukee):

As you approach the city, follow Hwy 30 into Madison. Take the "State Capitol" exit off of Hwy 30, and you will then be on E. Washington Ave. As you approach the Capitol Square, follow 151 from E. Washington left onto Blair Street. Take Blair two blocks and turn right onto Wilson St. A few blocks up Wilson, just past Olin Terrace, turn left into the Monona Terrace parking structure.


From the southeast via I-90 (Chicago, Beloit, Janesville):

Take the Hwy 12 & 18 West (Beltline) exit to Madison. Exit at John Nolen Dr. and continue two miles to the Monona Terrace parking structure entrance on your right.


From the southwest via Hwy 18 & 151 (Dubuque, Platteville, Dodgeville):

As you approach Madison, take the Hwy 12 & 18 (Beltline) East exit. Take the John Nolen Dr. exit off the Beltline and follow John Nolen 2 miles to the Monona Terrace parking structure entrance on your right.

PARKING


You'll find plenty of parking convenient to all that downtown Madison and Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center have to offer.

Monona Terrace features a 600-space, cashier-operated parking structure, which is accessible via East Wilson St. and the eastbound lanes of John Nolen Drive.

Short-term and all-day public parking is provided throughout downtown Madison in various structures and lots. On-street parking is also available for shortterm parking in central Madison.

Take your parking structure entrance ticket with you for unlimited free rides on any Metro bus in the downtown area, bounded by Breese Terrace, Regent St. and Blair St. Just show your parking structure entrance ticket to the Metro driver.
