Registration

The registration can be done in advance using the online or mail/fax registration form. In addition, an onsite registration desk will be located on the fourth floor of the Monona Terrace on Monday 9/13/04 at 6-9 PM and all day Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Registration is required for all TOFE attendees and guest speakers. Register before August 10, 2004 and save on the registration fees. Members of co-sponsoring organizations (e.g., Atomic Energy Society of Japan) pay the same registration fees as ANS members.

If you prefer to register at the meeting, please, send an E-mail to the registration chair, Dr. Mark Anderson (manderson@engr.wisc.edu) in advance (preferably before August 10, 2004) to reserve tickets for the Reception, Banquet, and other activities.

There are special registration opportunities for students, ANS emeritus members, retirees, and spouses/guests. Badges and tickets are required for admission to all technical sessions and social events. Publication of the proceedings and CD-ROM are included in the full and one-day meeting registration fees and will be sent to registrants after the meeting.

Registration includes admittance to all technical sessions, a copy of the abstract book, proceedings and CD-ROM (that will be sent after the meeting), one ticket to the Welcome Reception, one ticket to the Banquet, and daily continental breakfast and refreshment breaks.

Student, Emeritus, Retirees, and Spouse/Guest registration includes admittance to all technical sessions, a copy of the abstract book, tickets for the social functions (including the Banquet), however, does not include a copy of the proceedings/CD-ROM.

A confirmation/receipt letter will be sent by surface mail after payment is processed. Registration cancellations must be made in writing prior to September 1, 2004 in order to receive a refund minus a $75 processing fee. Meeting registrations and additional tickets cancelled after September 1, 2004 will not be refunded; however, you may send a substitute.

Monona Catering will offer multiple entrees for TOFE attendees. Early registrants (who registered before September 1, 2004) can indicate on the registration form their preferred meal (beef, chicken, seafood, or vegetarian). A chicken meal will be served to the onsite registrants, unless they E-mail their preferred meal to Dr. M. Anderson (manderson@engr.wisc.edu) before September 1, 2004. The meal tickets are color-coded and will be collected at the banquet as the meals are served.

Attention Students

Student participation is strongly encouraged. The 16th TOFE meeting offers special registration opportunities for students. All student first authors presenting a paper at this meeting can compete for the Best Student Paper Award and ANS members can apply to the ANS Fusion Energy Division for partial reimbursement of expenses.

Attention Non-US Residents

If you are a foreign national planning to attend the 16th TOFE meeting, there are new restrictions on entering the US that you need to be aware of. Here is some information on the visa situation and all foreign nationals are strongly encouraged to clarify their visa needs as soon as they contemplate travel to the US. Visa processing time is difficult to predict for an individual applicant. For many, a personal appearance interview is required as a standard part of visa processing. Getting the personal appearance interviews scheduled will take months.
