FDF Project
- Test components and materials to high neutron fluence (3-6 MWy/m2) with duty factor of 0.3/y with maintainability
- Demonstrate tritium self-sufficiency
- Develop advanced test blankets that produce tritium and electricity at 1-3 MW/m2 neutron fluxes
- Develop advanced fusion blankets for generation of high temperature process heat
- With ITER and a materials irradiation facility, provide the database for a fusion DEMO power plant.
