To move to a fusion DEMO power plant after ITER, a Fusion Nuclear Science Facility (FNSF) is needed in addition to ITER, and research in operating tokamaks and those under construction. The Fusion Development Facility (FDF), which now is also called FNSF-AT is a FNSF candidate for a DT steady-state neutron source. FNSF-AT could produce 150-300 MW of fusion power in a normal aspect ratio tokamak configuration with copper TF and PF magnets. The main technology-related mission includes:
