TABLE 3. Major lunar features: end of the magma ocean stage

1. Surface to 50-70 km: ferroan anorthosite and olivine norite crust.

a. Upper 25 km: impact brecciated material seismically similar to present outer crust, containing remnants of impact-forced intrusions and extrusions.
b. Lower 40-60 km: numerous, relatively coherent intrusions of Mg-rich material.

2. 60 to 400-480 km: upper mantle, consisting largely of pyroxene and olivlne.

a. Residual urKREEP liquids concentrated near the mantle-crust interface.
b. Iron-sulfur liquid concentrated near the base of the upper mantle.

3. 400-480 km to center: lower mantle, consisting mostly of largely un-differentiated primordial accretionary material.

a. Depending on temperature, masses of iron-sulfur liquid may have been migrating downward with depletion of chalcophile and siderophile elements.
